"The sky is the limit, and there is no brief other than it will be a Merlot, and we want to completely re-invent this existing Brand." Really? A new story would be created for this Merlot along with determining which AVA in California the wine would come from in order to completely reinvent and elevate the current Blackstone Merlot. This was also an opportunity to select and/or partially innovate a new bottle mold.
This winning concept features a custom illustration of a young blackbird which is the French origin of the word Merlot. The custom wordmark is also inspired by the blackbird.
